Watering   Geraniums

Watering geraniums during dry periods prevents wilting, eventual yellowing and dropping of leaves.  Moisture content of your soil can be determined by picking up a handful of soil and pressing it in your palm.  If it crumbles, the plant should be watered.  Soil should be kept moist but not too wet.  Keeping the soil too wet encourages snail and slug populations that chew the foliage and invites root-rotting organisms.  Avoid watering overhead whenever possible, since wet flowers deteriorate very rapidly.
